Like I said, I’m Ed, Creative Director

Born in Boston. Studied Latin in high school. Studied ancient Greek in college. Developed a love of language and became an etymology nerd (“hippo-potamus” means “river horse”). After working on a dig site in Corinth for a month in college, I realized the professor’s life was not for me (less Indiana Jones, more scrubbing pottery shards with a toothbrush). So I took a class in advertising and the rest is ancient history.

I started interning at Grey. R/GA gave me an appreciation for all things digital. Then I spent a bunch of years at Anomaly. I’ve recorded product spots with one of my favorite comedians, built and auctioned a custom board to inspire Black youth chess players, shot a campaign on a 7-day cruise with 5000+ active guests, dropped a sedan (and a giant inflatable pink flamingo) into a 30-ft bucket in the Argentina desert, launched a brand campaign about ancient Greek concepts of love in the Super Bowl, and written a children’s book series for kids who have lost a parent or loved one.

More recently, I’ve freelanced at Le Truc and Mother NY. I love that there are infinite ways to answer a brief. And I love that advertising is, as cheesy as it sounds and as much as I cringe to write this into my actual bio… a “team sport.”

Aside from Creative Director, I’ve been a camp counselor, lifeguard, and babysitter. But my favorite job was being a golf caddie for 10 years. I’d occasionally use the "caddie wedge," i.e. my foot, to give balls a better lie. I’d find balls out of bounds and secretly throw them back in play. My golfers loved me.
